How to find Buffett's AAPL holding from SEC.gov?
The news says that Buffett has sold 70% of AAPL from its peak holding. How to find its current holding from the SEC.gov official source?
Search for “sec search” in any web search engine. Go to https://www.sec.gov/search-filings.
On this page you can only search through the 10-K (annual report) and 10-Q (quarterly reports). Scroll down, click on “Full Text Search”. You will land on https://www.sec.gov/edgar/search/.
If you only see one search box, click on “+ more search options”. Now click on “browse filing types”, choose “13F-HR” to limit the search to 13F forms, by which asset managers report all share holdings. Input “BRK” in the Company Name field. Press Search.
Below the search box, you will see a list of 13F filings. Click on the latest one for example. A window pops up as below.
Click on “Open document”, you will see a list of 14 managers, who manage the filed shares.
Now click on “Open filing” in the pop-up window, select the “html” for “INFORMATION TABLE FOR FORM 13F” in the next page, one will see the detailed share holdings in https://www.sec.gov/Archives/edgar/data/1067983/000095012325002701/xslForm13F_X02/39042.xml
There are multiple rows for AAPL holdings. Each row is attributed to different managers. One may see the largest holders of AAPL in terms of shares are “4. Buffett Warranty E”, “11. National Indemnity Co”, followed by “8. GEICO Corp”.
